Prom dresses of the 80s

Thought you would all enjoy this. My friend K. wore this Prom dress in Spring 1990. (Her comments were that the style she wore was more trendy for around 1986.)

Fun Quiz

You Are a Log Ride

You prefer to live a fairly calm, relaxed life... with a few surprises thrown in.

You don't tend to get yourself worked up easily. You can roll with what life throws at you.

In relationships, you are steady and solid. You maintain a pretty broad perspective on what's going on.

That's not to say you can't get swept away. You're emotions run as deep as anyone else's.

Your life seems like it has been remarkably easy so far. But that's due to how you manage it.

You never stretch yourself too thinly, and you think out your decisions carefully.

Taking the time to enjoy each day is important to you, and you don't let your emotions rule you.

You stay the course and do what's right... knowing it will all work out in the end.

At your best, you are tolerant and understanding of other people's quirks.

You take "go with the flow" to the extreme. Even if you don't like where you're going.

At your worst, you repress your feelings and end up being a little tightly wound.

You definitely have some explosive emotions that occasionally come to the surface!

Post reviews of 80s shows on TV.com

There is a site called TV.com (extremely easy to use) where you can "track" your favorite new and old shows. The shows from the 80s that I am tracking are:
Gimme A Break
St. Elsewhere
Knight Rider
Facts of Life
Little House on the Prairie
Max Headroom
Moonlighting
Family Ties
Punky Brewster
Three's Company

More recent shows that I am tracking include:
The Dead Zone
ER
Brothers and Sisters
Medium
American Idol
House

I have not written any reviews on these shows yet. You can still track the shows without writing reviews.
It is also somewhat of a social media site -- you can make "friends" and track the reviews that they write.
Just thought I'd share!

Birthday Parties in the 80s

Hi everyone,
My birthday is coming up at the end of April. I thought it would be fun to share what I did for my birthdays in the 1980s. I would love to hear some of your stories, even if you are younger or older than me!
In 1982- I turned 8, my parents took me to Circus Pizza (sort of like Chuck E Cheese)!
My brother had a "Smurf"-themed bday party that year.
1985 - I turned 11, and we went to a Roller Rink with at least 6 of my friends!
1987 - My parents bought me "Huey Lewis & The News- Fore" on cassette
1988 - A roller-rink party and a girls' sleepover for my 14th birthday.

Short blurb

Hey, have you seen the new M&Ms packages with Indiana Jones? Of course it is the Indiana Jones from 25 years ago! Harrison Ford is quite young in these pictures!

Some 80s news and a site for games

I just saw on Yahoo! that there will be a G.I. Joe movie out in theaters in 2009. I find it interesting that last summer we had Transformers and a re-made TMNJ, and now next summer we'll have G.I. Joe.

You can read the article here:
http://omg.yahoo.com/g-i-joe-live-action-movie-details-revealed/news/7676

My last post got me thinking about games I played as a youngster. I thought I would search online for another game we played every summer, "Kick the Can." Do kids still play this? I found a really interesting site here. It described several games by category.

Hope you're having a great week!
